Silenced Justice A Josh Williams Novel Joe Broadmeadow 9781506182704 Books
Silenced Justice tells the story of justice gone wrong. The skill of the author is on display from page one. I haven't read the first book, Collision Course, yet, but it made no difference. Loved the playful banter between LT. Josh Williams and his wife, Keira (she's a hot ticket). The storyline is gripping, with an innocent man behind bars, and Broadmeadow does a fantastic job of keeping us grounded when the story flashes back to the past to reveal important plot elements. I won't reveal what happens for fear of ruining the story, but you won't want to miss it.In Silenced Justice we get a first-hand look at police procedures, politics cops have to deal with in the department, and the inner turmoil that affects so many officers. That alone was worth the read. The fast-paced plot made it all the more sweet. The black man/white woman angle sort of reminded me of A Time To Kill --- that's a compliment!
If you enjoy police procedural novels that go beyond the traditional, don't look past this one. You can't get any more real. East Providence Police Dept. Captain (Ret.) turned author Joe Broadmeadow hit this one out of the park.

Silenced Justice A Josh Williams Novel Joe Broadmeadow 9781506182704 Books Reviews
Joe has written a second book in the Josh Williams series that had me constantly turning the pages. I felt the first book was great but I must say this one is even better. His story-telling ways make you care about the characters and you just can't wait to find out what happens next. Keep it up, Joe, waiting for the next in the series.
Terrific book! Great characters and a plot that twists and turns to the last page. Loved it.
What an interesting and fast moving story. It totally kept my interest even with the plethora of characters. Highly recommend.
This is another good read in the series. The characters interactions capture the true interagency banter of the good guys, the action is so frequent it was hard to put the book down. The back drop of the RI the corruption State, is well suited for this story, with many of the local land marks incorporated throughout the descriptive scenes.
Joe you are on to something with this series can't wait for the next.
I read a lot of books of all types and I have to say that the Josh William's novels definitely keep you interested. Mr. Broadmeadow does a great job of taking you right into the daily life of a cop, the language, the attitude and the interactions are spot on. Silenced Justice takes the main character, Josh Williams, to the next level by doing a complete 180 in the type of case. Collision Course was raw emotion with a lot of action where Silenced Justice is much more subtle with a white collar aspect. Broadmeadow is evolving as an author. I found the writing in Silenced Justice to be much tighter and more cohesive than Collision Course. Looking forward to the next installment in the series!
SECOND IN Josh Williams series. Thrilling Rhode Island based detective thriller. As a favor to his former boss, LT Detective Josh Williams looks into a 37 yr old case of an injustice that was never made right. A dirty DA, now Senator with Russian organized crime backers will do anything to silence the justice that is due. Well developed storyline and characters. Highly recommended.
Another fun, light read from Joe Broadmeadow. The humor and dialog keep you amused as you turn the pages to find the next twist or turn. If you like police novels written with authenticity and carrying a local flavor, Silenced Justice is terrific. You don't have to re-read the paragraphs to figure out what is going on our being said. However, a table of characters and their linkage might help.
In a way, Joe's work is beginning to remind me of Robert B. Parker's Spenser novels...except where Spenser was the only wise cracking character, Joe's works are filled with a bevy of memorable wise cracking characters. Yes, it is earthy at times, but that's what it should be and it is done well without being filled with really weirdo stuff or endless profanity.
Looking forward to the next books in the series.... and would love to see someone turn these into a movie.
