I found that The Journal of Julia Le Grand was similar to that of Mary Boykin Chestnut in relating the treatment of the female citizenship by the soldiers and their commanders of The Army of Northern Aggression. They actually made war on innocent civilians of the South both black and white. The black population was actually treated worse by the Northern soldiers. By this I mean that many of the commanders took over Southern plantations and then forced the black people to work for them.Product details
